Entry and fees: Robinhood asks for no minimum deposit, Trading212 for a symbolic euro. Both trade stocks and ETFs commission-free, and in both cases the real cost question sits elsewhere. Trading212 states an FX conversion of 0.15% and, for CFDs, a EUR/USD spread from 1.2 pip. Robinhood states no commission and funds itself through payment for order flow, with a quoted execution of around 50 ms. That is the honest comparison: a small, stated conversion fee against a model where the cost sits in the execution rather than on the invoice.
Products and platforms: On options Robinhood is ahead — and ahead today. Robinhood trades US options commission-free, while Trading212 lists options in its record as "coming soon", announced but not available. On everything else Trading212 is the broader of the two: stocks, ETFs, CFDs and forex against Robinhood's stocks, ETFs, options and crypto. Fractional shares exist on both sides. On platforms both offer app and web, both without MT4 or MT5, and both note limited research tools in their own profiles.
Profile and verdict: Here too availability decides first. Robinhood (3.9/5 from 2,500 reviews, founded 2013 in Menlo Park) is SEC- and FINRA-regulated and open only to US customers. Trading212 (4.6/5 from 1,892 reviews, founded 2004 in London) is FCA- and CySEC-regulated rather than BaFin-regulated, and offers German-language support. For European readers, then, Trading212 is often the only realistic one of the two — and, at 4.6/5, the higher-rated as well. If you are in the US and want to trade options, you end up at Robinhood.
