Plus500Summary
Both carry the same 4.5/5 rating but follow different models. eToro trades real stocks at 0% commission, plus ETFs, crypto and CFDs, and is known for social and copy trading — from a $50 minimum deposit, but without BaFin regulation and with a $5 withdrawal fee. Plus500 is a pure CFD provider with no commission, EUR/USD from 0.8 pip and options CFDs, from €100 and publicly traded. If you want to own real stocks or follow other traders, choose eToro; to speculate short-term on prices including options CFDs, Plus500.

Side by side. Decided with knowledge.
See the differences that matter, and the Academy lessons that explain them.
Entry and fees: eToro starts from a $50 minimum deposit, Plus500 from €100. Both earn mainly on the spread: eToro quotes EUR/USD from 1.0 pip (typical) and 0% commission on stocks, Plus500 EUR/USD from 0.8 pip (typical), no commissions — spread only. The small print separates them on side costs: eToro charges a $5 withdrawal fee and an inactivity fee of $10 a month after 12 months without a trade. Plus500 also charges $10 a month, but after just 3 months of inactivity. If you trade only occasionally, Plus500 starts charging you much sooner.
Products and platforms: The fundamental difference is what you actually own. At eToro you buy real stocks and ETFs, alongside CFDs, forex, crypto, commodities and indices, topped up with copy trading, smart portfolios and a large community. Plus500 offers CFDs only — on stocks, forex, commodities, indices and crypto — plus options CFDs. Neither offers exchange-traded options; eToro offers no options at all. Both rely on their own software: the eToro Platform and app, and the Plus500 WebTrader and app. Plus500 has no MT4 or MT5, and eToro lists no MetaTrader either. Plus500 names limited research tools as a weakness itself.
Profile and verdict: eToro (4.5/5 from 3,200 reviews) was founded in 2007, sits in Tel Aviv and is regulated by CySEC, the FCA and ASIC, not by BaFin. Plus500 (4.5/5 from 2,156 reviews) has existed since 2008, sits in Haifa, is regulated by the FCA, CySEC, ASIC and FMA, is publicly traded and offers German support. With identical ratings, your goal decides: long-term investing in real stocks or copying other traders points to eToro. If you want pure CFD speculation with tighter spreads and options CFDs, and you trade regularly, Plus500 fits.
